Economic, Exergoeconomic and Exergoenvironmental Evaluation of Gas Cycle Power Plant Based on Different Compressor Configurations

The decision-making process behind the selection of a gas turbine engine (GT) is crucial and must be made in accordance with economic, environmental, technical requirements. This paper presents relevant exergoeconomic exergoenvironmental analyses for four GT engines different compressor configurations. configurations are identified according to type compressor: axial, axial-centrifugal, two-stage centrifugal, centrifugal-centrifugal. performances were validated against manufacturer supplied data using specialized software. economic analysis, detailed life cycle costing considering cost paid per unit net power obtained from GT, subsequent shortest payback period showed that centrifugal-centrifugal was most economically feasible. followed, order, by GT-axial, GT-axial-centrifugal, finally GT-two-stage centrifugal configuration, where ownership 20 year plan ranges between 8000 USD/kW about 12,000 at operational scenarios during costing. Exergoeconomic assessment provided useful information enhance cost-effectiveness all systems evaluating each component separately. axial-centrifugal configuration registered lowest CO2 emissions (about 0.7 kg/kWh); environmental indicators confirmed it environmentally friendly option.
